When I went out to run this evening I discovered that I had not uploaded the training plan into my GPS watch. I decided to roughly follow the plan, but aim for at least 5km and see what happened.
I ended up doing 6km at reasonable pace – especially at times. During this run, I achieved personal bests for 1 mile (9:39), 3 miles (32:13) and 5km (32:58). I am edging slowly towards the target of 5km under 30 minutes. I am running better than I have done for as long as I can remember and certainly the best since 2007.
It was surprisingly muddy out in the countryside. The bridleways were full of puddles in places reflecting the heavy rain we keep having. There were not so many flies as last time I ran, but it was not as cool. Not hot, certainly, but quite humid and warm.
